"Cosmetic Surgery Appeals To Men, Women With Appearance-based Rejection Sensitivity"

"Researchers have found that men and women who feel sensitive to rejection based on their physical appearance are more likely to express interest in having cosmetic surgery than those who are less sensitive to appearance-based rejection. This effect is particularly true when people recall negative comments about their physical appearance." <----well duh! This was all common sense before. It's not like somebody who is confident will committ to doing plastic surgery. If they were confident in the first place, they didn't think that they would need to have cosmetic surgery. Like I honestly think those who get cosmetic surgery are most likely going to be more vulnerable in the future.. maybe they will never be satisfied? It's just not right to alternate what God gave you :/ Like foreal, how unnatureal can you get? That's so weird! =( I guess if that makes them happy, but this plastic barbie was already pretty to begin with.

Could Salmonella Bacteria Kill Tumors?

I was always told by my Mother that Salmonella is bad for you. Leaving food out can cause this. But I found this article that has a theory that salmonella bacteria kills tumors. I think that's awesome. Turning a negative into a postivie. Salmonella is regarded as a bad guy. Hardly a summer passes without reports of severe salmonella infections via raw egg dishes or chicken. But salmonella may not only harm us -- in the future, it may even help to defend us against cancer. Researchers may soon have a way to make the bacteria migrate into solid tumors in order to make it easier to destroy them. Furthermore, in laboratory mice, the bacteria independently find their way into metastases, where they can also aid clearance of the cancer. I think that's great! (= yay for salmonella. haha The phenomenon of bacteria attacking tumors has been known to scientists for a long time. However, a cancer therapy with potential pathogens has been unthinkable before now. The risk of the patient dying due to an infection was too high.

Cardiac Surgeons Implant World's First New DeBakey Heart Assist Device

I think that this is awesome. This is a great way to know that technology is up and running! I wonder how it would feel like to have a DeBakey Heart Assist Device. I think that this is crazy to have. Anything to save the heart! The device augments the pumping function of the left ventricle in an especially effective, gentle and quiet manner. The pump weighs 92 grams and is made of titanium and plastic. It pumps blood from the weakened or failed left ventricle into the aorta. Isn't that awesome? “Following the 3.5 hour surgery, the patient is doing fine,” reports Professor Karck. The 50-year-old woman suffered from heart failure that could not be effectively treated with medication. Since a heart transplant was not an option due to medical reasons, the implanted heart pump will now assist her heart. Patients can now live a normal life!
